March Happenings in San Antonio
March marks the beginning of spring, the celebration of St. Patrick’s Day, and the getting together with friends to watch the frenzy of March Madness. San Antonio is preparing for a fun and exciting season this month!
Here are a few ways this great city is celebrating in March:
Pink Martini performs live at the Majestic Theatre March 7
Pink Martini started performing in 1994. Their musical style is a mix of classical, jazz, and old-fashioned pop. Typically performing for fundraising events such as supporting local libraries, parks, and education, their eclectic musical style brings class and entertainment to your night out for a good cause.
Pink Martini’s performance will benefit the San Antonio River Foundation’s mission to enhance the San Antonio River Basin and further ecological and recreational experiences. Proceeds will also benefit the Las Casas Foundation’s performing arts education programs.
Sea World San Antonio’s Aquatica opens March 10
A tropical oasis full of adventure, Aquatica opens for the 2018 season on March 10. Ride waves, water slides, and serene rivers and meet giant stingrays, tropical birds, and beautiful fish. You can get started on your summer tan early while relaxing on Aquatica’s white sandy beaches.
Bud Light St. Patrick’s Day Festival March 16 through March 17
Join the tradition of celebrating St. Patrick’s Day on the River Walk. Since 1969, the San Antonio River Walk Association and Harp & Shamrock Society of Texas have worked together to bring the Irish celebration to the city’s historical River Walk.
Come and enjoy authentic Irish food, unique artistry, musical entertainment, and of course green beer! Start your walk at Arneson River Theatre and see what other adventures there are to discover.
You can also gaze at the water as it transforms to a beautiful rich green color made possible with eco-friendly dye. Walk along the two-and-a-half-mile river and see the color ebb and flow with the water.
Six Flags Fiesta Texas Mardi Gras Celebration March 24 through April 30
Beginning March 24, Six Flags Fiesta Texas will start celebrating Mardi Gras with daily street parades, live jazz music, and authentic Cajun food. Embrace the culture of New Orleans during this all-new festival that lasts through the month of April.
March Madness March 13 through April 2
No one can forget about the NCAAs most thrilling time of year! You can watch the games all month long at one of San Antonio’s high-energy sports bars or break out your grilling skills right outside The Broadway’ doors.
The outdoor entertainment area is perfect for meeting friends and searing a sizzling steak. The area is furnished with comfortable outdoor furniture and multiple TVs, so you won’t miss a moment of the games.
Want to experience the Final Four up close and personal? San Antonio is hosting the Final Four for the first time since 1998! You can purchase your tickets now and get ready to put your game face on at the Alamodome starting March 31.
San Antonio always has hot happenings going on, and March is no different. Full of excitement both indoors and outdoors, there is something to look forward to all month long.
