San Antonio is the Fastest-Growing City Nationwide
San Antonio is one of the most popular destinations for people looking to move to a new city. For much of the past decade it has been experiencing record growth, and that growth is not showing signs of slowing down.
In 2015-2016 the national census had San Antonio third for the largest growth population. Now, one year later, Amel Toukabri, a demographer in the Population Division of the Census Bureau, said, “San Antonio, Texas, tops the list with the largest population gain with an increase of over 24,200 people, an average of 66 people per day between 2016 and 2017. That’s a growth rate of 1.6%. This growth was enough to push San Antonio’s population above the 1.5 million mark.”
The current trend is showing people want to live in warmer climates and Texas, in general, fared quite well on this list. Ten of the 15 fastest-growing, large cities are located in the South and 7 of those are in the great state of Texas. Some say it’s the barbecue and breakfast tacos, we think it’s the whole package…gorgeous nature spots, low cost of living and the friendliest people in the universe to name a few.
With the fast-paced development, San Antonio is in an era of change. From the top-notch medical community, to more chef-driven restaurants and the expansion of various San Antonio neighborhoods, we’re excited and ready for people to call San Antonio home.
