Life at The Top

the story

The Building

The Broadway introduced San Antonio to luxury high-rise living. Its 20 stories of elegance boast breathtaking views of downtown San Antonio and the surrounding tree-lined neighborhoods. Located on the coveted corner of Broadway-Hildebrand known as “The Museum District,” The Broadway offers a sophisticated, yet simple lifestyle only steps away from restaurants, shops and historical sites. Available in various architecturally designed floor plans, the residences are the epitome of classic design and elegant finishes.

“The Broadway and the surrounding area is defining San Antonio in the same way Times Square defines New York. There’s simply no place like it,” said Red McCombs, Founder and Chairman of McCombs Enterprises

The Broadway Residences, the vision of Mr. McCombs, sparked invigorated interest in the area that is being called the new ‘Main Street’ of San Antonio. The Broadway/Hildebrand Corridor also includes attractions such as the Botanical Gardens, Brackenridge Park and the newly opened San Antonio Children’s Museum a “Do Seum”. “What you are seeing is just the beginning of refocusing Downtown San Antonio and the pathway to it,” said Mr. McCombs.

The Location

The Broadway, located at 4242 Broadway, was built on one of the best-known corners in San Antonio where the iconic Earl Abel’s restaurant originally opened in 1940. “We were fortunate to purchase that property from the Earl Abel family, it was the only location we considered. We are proud to own this site and were very aware of the importance this corner holds in the city’s history. I feel The Broadway is a continuation of that proud heritage and brings a sense of community to the area,” said Mr. McCombs.

“The building itself is something you never tire of viewing. I built it to be a reference point that will be viable 100 years from now. It was built to withstand the test of time,” said Mr. McCombs.

The Broadway sits on 2.5 acres near the San Antonio Zoo, San Antonio Country Club and Witte Museum.   The residential building offers a resort-style setting with on-site hotel-trained staff. Amenities such as a state-of-the-art fitness center, media room, pet park, conference room, and catering kitchen cover more than 140,000 square feet. The resort-style pool boasts covered cabanas and a climate-controlled pool with lounge.

A High Tech High Rise

The Broadway Residences boasts some of the latest and greatest home technology trends. The high tech high rise makes luxury living easier than ever before. Wired for smart home technology, every amenity in each home is wired together in one smart panel allowing residents to control everything on one device, such as an iPad, tablet or smart phone. If a resident wants to raise the shades and turn on the music in the master bedroom, all they have to do is reach for their tablet. From adjusting the lighting and air conditioning to recording TV shows, residents have full control of their home at the touch of their fingertips.

“The luxury and quality of the tower really placed a spotlight on a new way of living that I think will be important to other developers that we see coming into the area. There is nothing like The Broadway,” said Mr. McCombs.

Every room in each home is wired with Internet. Anywhere a resident chooses to have a TV, the TV will be able to stream Internet content directly. Thus, residents can easily access Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, YouTube, Facebook, etc. without having to deal with an external device. Residents are also opting for the cutting edge 4K TVs, which are twice the resolution of the standard high definition.

Additionally, every room is also wired with speakers that are installed into the walls so they are barely noticeable. This feature provides residents with the opportunity to watch their favorite movies with surround sound or listen to their favorite musician while hanging around the house.

The Broadway is at the forefront of home technology and continues to strive to keep our residents updated with the latest and greatest technologies on the market.

  • It’s surprising how green it is. When you look out the window, instead of buildings, you see trees and golf courses. We think it’s the perfect view.
